Pantone Color of 2013: EMERALD According to Pantone, emerald is energizing, positive, luxurious, radiant, harmonious, striking, luminous, and sophisticated, among other things. My prediction in wedding trend is out with the simplicity and in with luxury. Expect to see a
lot of green inspiration and jewel tones all over the wedding blogs and magazines.
Want to incorporate emerald into your upcoming wedding? Check out these inspirations.
Your engagement photos. Not sure about green for the wedding? Try adding a pop of green to your engagement photos. Green is always eye catching and flattering on most skin tones. You just have to experiment to find the right hue.
The perfect dress. I can't stop dreaming about this one! Emerald green meets Great Gatsby perfection! The bride slipped into this gorgeous number before the reception.

From all of us here at Main Street Florist, THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING YEAR!
If you "like" us on facebook your already know.. but just in case you live under a rock.
In January of this year, we started sending one of our colorful, fresh flower arrangements each week to a person in town who has gone beyond expectations in serving the community. We call them “Hooray Bouquets.”
So far we have delivered 11 of the Hooray Bouquets, originally called Good Job Bouquets, and will continue to award one each week for the rest of the year. We have no doubt that we can find at least 52 people who deserve recognition
Our 2nd winner of the "Good Job" Bouquet! Beverly Leach was nominated for all she does to help out others. She takes people to doctors appointments, cooks for those who need a little assistance and is always there to lend a helping hand.
We base our decision each week on nominations we receive from people and businesses throughout Carlinville. We invite anyone to submit a nomination at any time. The nominees themselves also come from all over town. A Hooray Bouquet recipient can be your mail carrier, a store clerk, a co-worker, a Good Samaritan, a volunteer, or even a group of people. We recently presented one to the Carlinville Library staff, which is good example of a group.
Earning the Bouquet up to this point are Laurie Johnson, Beverly Leach, Cindy Thurston, Sue Vieceli, Beth Hammann, Dan Pressler, Karen Gininatti, Lisa Kleeman, Rich & Judy Minster, Theresa Gwillim, and Dr. Elizabeth Obrien.
Our Good Job Bouquet Winner (2/11/2012) is Dan Pressler! Dan was nominated for being kind and generous both as a business man and friend. He was always there if anyone needed a lift and a huge help to the community through the Lions Club
Bouquet winners get their picture taken with the arrangement, and the photo is posted on Facebook in our “Hall of Fame” at www.facebook.com/MainStreetFlorist.
03/17/12 Last weeks winner of the "Good Job" Bouquet! Theresa Gwillim was nominated for have unending patience and a smile that goes straight to your heart! Theresa goes above and beyond everyday to help out at as the secretary at the Carlinville Intermediate School.
Nominations for the Hooray Bouquet can be dropped off at Main Street Florist on the east side of the town square, left as a private message on Main Street’s Facebook page, sent as an e-mail to info@main-street-florist.com, or called in by phone at 217-854-8224. Nominations should include the nominee’s full name, an address or phone number, and a brief explanation of why the nominee deserves to be honored.
Wow... did you know we had blog? I apparently had forgotten! I promise to get back on schedule! So many new things are going on at Main Street Florist and I'm excited to tell you about each one!
Today I'll make it short and sweet though. Since it's St. Patrick's day and all I thought I'd show you some green!
These little green beauties went to a very "Lucky" bride and groom today. We created them from green dianthus, green hypericum berries, and shamrocks made from green wire.
This arrangement was sent out for another couple who were also married on St. Patty's day. Created with green dianthus, green hypericum, green fugi mums, and horsetail.
We carry a great line of modern vases. CHIVE! Chive believes in simple design to show of the natural beauty of the flower. We can't agree more! They are so unique and really highlight a single bloom.
Wish your someone good cheer and good luck with our raygun chive vase above! $25 delivered in C'ville!
Above is our "Lucky" macaroni (that's a technical term) vase! $25 delivered in C'ville!
Pictured about is our Chive rock pile (another technical term) vase! $28 delivered in C'ville!

ATTENTION!!! For those of you who like making your own 'pretties' instead of just buying them, come on down to Main Street Florist!
We have two classes coming up in the near future. On Sunday, November 20th, we are presenting a 'Fall Simple Centerpiece' class. This is just in time to take your centerpiece home for all your family to enjoy at Thanksgiving dinner!
Our 'Christmas Wreath' class will be held Thursday, December 1st. During this class, you will decorate a fresh wreath! We will have sooo many pretty picks, ornaments, ribbon, etc that will be at your disposal. You DEFINITELY do not want to miss this one!
Why should I take the class instead of doing it myself at home? Oh, so many reasons!!
We teach you 'tricks of the trade'. We will show you how professionals tackle the project and give you hints along the way.
We have all the supplies you need. We promise you won't get in the middle of the project and realize you have to go buy something in order to complete it.
We have VARIETY! You will have options laid out in front of you so you can pick what looks great in your piece AS you are making it! You can't do THAT at home (well, you could, if you spent a small fortune in having the variety available)!
The worst part of a project is cleaning up your mess afterwards... well, we do that for you! You just take your masterpiece out the door and worry about US doing the cleaning.
So how do you sign up? Simple: Call the shop to reserve your spot at 217.854.8224. In order for your spot to be reserved, you must pay for the class in full.
What if I pay for the class and something comes up and I am unable to attend? If you let us know of your cancellation more than one week prior to the class, you will be refunded 100 percent of the class in cash. If you let us know less than a week in advance of the class, you will be refunded 100 percent of the class in a Main Street gift certificate. The key: You just HAVE to let us know if you can't make it!
Why should I call today? Space is LIMITED! There are many DIYers out there in the community -- make sure you are a lucky one that gets to attend the class!
